Vietnam tourism sees growth through regional cooperation and rising international demand

Vietnam is experiencing a significant surge in tourism interest and regional cooperation. The Ho Chi Minh City International Travel Expo (ITE HCMC) has established itself as a major Asia-Pacific forum for tourism policy and cooperation. Data from Agoda indicates that Vietnam is among the most-searched Asian destinations for European travelers.

Regional efforts to bolster tourism include Can Tho strengthening business links and travel routes with South Korea's Jeonbuk province, as well as promoting its tourism potential in Thailand. In Ninh Binh, visitor numbers grew by 23.34% year-on-year in the first seven months of the year, reaching approximately 18.7 million people. Additionally, Phu Quoc has been recognized by Expedia as one of the best islands to visit in 2026.

There is also an increasing focus on sustainable and integrated tourism ecosystems. Major cities like Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City are encouraging green travel through the use of walking, cycling, and public transit to reduce carbon footprints.
