Vietnam tourism sees strong growth in Phu Quoc and Khanh Hoa
Vietnam is experiencing significant growth in its tourism sector, with notable performance in key destinations like Phu Quoc and Khanh Hoa during the first eight months of 2026.
In Phu Quoc, international arrivals are rising, driven largely by the Russian market, which saw over 1 million visitors—a nearly 166% increase. Additionally, there is a surge in interest from Chinese travelers, evidenced by a massive spike in searches for travel guides and hotels on social media platforms like Xiaohongshu. Phu Quoc was previously recognized by Expedia as one of the top 10 most attractive islands in the world for 2026.
Khanh Hoa province has also reported robust figures, recording over 18 million total visitors, a nearly 40% increase compared to the previous year. International visitors to Khanh Hoa reached over 6.3 million, representing a 67.9% increase. To sustain this momentum, local authorities are focusing on improving infrastructure, developing night-time economies, and implementing digital tourism platforms to enhance service quality and destination management.
