Vietnam traffic police impose heavy fines on illegal truck and bride‑procession three‑wheelers
Hanoi traffic police fined driver N.C.P 67 million VND after he failed to stop for inspection, operated a truck with an oversized cargo box, lacked the correct driving licence and ignored traffic control orders. The vehicle was seized until the cargo dimensions were corrected.
In Dong Tháp province, police detained four drivers of makeshift three‑wheelers used in a bridal procession. Each driver received a 1.2 million VND fine for transporting three or more passengers without helmets; three drivers without licences faced additional penalties totaling more than 10.7 million VND and had their vehicles confiscated. Authorities plan further investigation of the passengers for helmet violations.
