Vietnam's hospitals and universities earn first‑time spots in global rankings

Newsweek’s 2026 Best Specialized Hospitals Asia‑Pacific list includes 11 Vietnamese hospitals for the first time, among them Bạch Mai, Chợ Rẫy, FV, Việt Pháp Hanoi, Hong Ngoc, 19‑8, Central Hue, Phuong Dong, and others. The ranking evaluated 925 hospitals across ten specialties, adding gastroenterology as a new category.

The Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2026 show a record 17 Vietnamese universities participating, with notable advances such as Phenikaa University moving to the 401‑600 group and FPT University entering the 201‑300 tier, ranking 87th globally for Quality Education (SDG 4). Other institutions highlighted include Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics (101‑200), Da Nang University (401‑600) and several others across the 401‑1 500 range. The rankings assess contributions to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, focusing on research, teaching, stewardship and outreach.

These recognitions reflect Vietnam’s growing presence in international health and higher‑education assessments, highlighting improvements in clinical services and sustainable university impact.
