Vietnam Vice President Võ Thị Ánh Xuân Leads National War Hero Commemorations
On July 10, Vice President Võ Thị Ánh Xuân visited the Bình Thành historic site in Tây Ninh, offering incense and flowers to honor martyrs and presenting 30 gifts to families of war heroes. The ceremony marked the lead‑up to the 79th anniversary of Vietnam’s Remembrance Day for the wounded and martyrs.
Separate efforts to locate the remains of fallen soldiers continued, with the Ho Chi Minh City command uncovering 13 additional bodies and eight artifacts at Lê Thị Riêng Park, bringing the total identified remains there to 29. In Quảng Trị Province officials also outlined plans to search for dozens more missing martyrs.
At the same time, the Mother Thứ monument in Da Nang attracted thousands of visitors who entered the memorial hall inside the granite structure, which records nearly 50,000 heroic mothers and displays personal wartime artifacts. Many visitors and veterans were moved to tears, reflecting the deep emotional resonance of these remembrance activities across Vietnam.
