Vietnam walking campaign targets 10 billion steps for sustainability
The “Cùng Việt Nam tiến bước” (Walking with Vietnam) program, organized by Báo Nhân Dân in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Security, is expanding its community impact. Following a successful 2025 campaign that recorded over 6 billion steps across 34 provinces and thousands of communes, the initiative is moving toward a 2026 goal of 10 billion steps.
The 2026 program is scheduled to commemorate the 81st anniversary of the August Revolution, National Day on September 2, and the traditional day of the Vietnam People's Public Security. The campaign aims to promote physical fitness, community solidarity, and a green lifestyle to support Net Zero goals by encouraging environmentally friendly movement.
Participants can join through physical walking or online via a dedicated portal. Vietcombank is participating as a supporting brand, offering a mechanism to double steps for customers to support the “Cùng em tiến bước” initiative for disadvantaged students.
