Vietnam warns of potential 14,000 MW power shortage by 2030

Vietnam's Ministry of Industry and Trade has issued a warning regarding potential electricity shortages. The national power system could face a deficit of approximately 4,256 MW by 2027, a figure that may rise to nearly 14,000 MW by 2030 if progress on power source and grid projects remains slow.

Additionally, the Central Highlands and Central Vietnam regions are facing increasing water security challenges due to climate change. Extreme weather patterns, including heavy rains, flash floods, landslides, and droughts, are impacting local populations, agricultural production, and socio-economic development.
