Vietnam Warns of Wireless Charging Drawbacks and Laptop Port Gaps

Wireless charging offers a cable‑free experience but has notable limitations. Users must keep the phone flat on the pad, restricting handling, and the charging speed remains slower than wired options even at 25 W, especially with thick cases. The technology also generates significant heat, with efficiency around 70 % and about 30 % of energy lost as heat, which can accelerate battery wear.

Laptop buyers are advised to prioritize connectivity ports. Modern laptops often provide only a few USB‑C ports, which may be insufficient for charging, external displays, and peripherals. Recommended minimums include at least three USB‑C ports, two USB‑A ports for legacy devices, and an HDMI port for external monitors. Additional ports such as DisplayPort, headphone jacks, microSD slots, and Thunderbolt 4/USB4 can enhance versatility, while older ports like Ethernet or VGA are less essential.
