Vietnam Youth 'Mùa hè Xanh' Volunteers Aid Rural Communities in Tuyên Quang and Hà Tĩnh
Around 30 volunteers from the Vietnam Youth Academy spent a week in Tả Ván, Tùng Vài commune, Tuyên Quang province, helping locals harvest corn, clear fields, repair homes and provide basic services despite difficult mountain roads and limited supplies. The team reported strong support from villagers, who shared food, offered transport and welcomed the volunteers into their homes.
In July, nearly 300 volunteers from universities and colleges across Hà Tĩnh province carried out a range of projects under the same "Mùa hè Xanh" campaign. Activities included lighting village streets, setting up free book cabinets, delivering meals to seniors, providing free health check‑ups and medicines, distributing gifts to disadvantaged families, maintaining war‑hero cemeteries and supporting digital‑literacy programs. The provincial Youth Union valued the social‑welfare impact at more than 200 million VND. Both efforts illustrate how the youth volunteer movement is delivering tangible assistance and fostering community ties in Vietnam’s rural areas.
