Vietnam’s Green Summer 2026 Youth Volunteer Campaign Mobilises Thousands

The Green Summer 2026 (Mùa Hè Xanh 2026) volunteer campaign saw nearly 2,500 young participants across Vietnam, including an Australian student studying Vietnamese. In Bình Phước commune, Vĩnh Long province, volunteers planted 600 trees, built a “Patriotic Flag Road,” organized cultural activities such as traditional cake‑wrapping and children’s art workshops, and distributed social‑aid packages to disadvantaged families.

In Ho Chi Minh City, the “Digital Summer” (Mùa hè số) teams travelled to remote districts and islands, teaching elderly party members and residents how to install and use government apps, digital ID, e‑tax filing and online public services. Volunteers also assisted small businesses with electronic tax registration and cash‑less payments, helping to accelerate the city’s digital transformation.

The campaigns emphasized youth engagement, community service, cultural preservation and the spread of digital skills, reflecting a broader effort to involve the younger generation in nation‑building and modernisation.
