Vietnamese banks deploy voice alerts amid rising financial fraud and transfer errors
Several Vietnamese banks have implemented voice-based transaction notifications to assist users, particularly merchants, in monitoring account activity. VietinBank, Vietcombank, Agribank, Nam A Bank, and LPBank all offer various versions of Voice OTT or audio notification services through their mobile applications or specialized hardware like notification speakers.
In separate incidents involving financial security, local authorities have intervened in banking-related issues. In Phu Tho province, police and LPBank staff successfully prevented a social media scam where a resident was nearly defrauded of 25 million VND by a person posing as a foreign contact offering a gift.
Additionally, police in Lam Dong and Phu Tho provinces coordinated to resolve a mistaken transfer. They assisted a citizen in recovering 7 million VND that had been accidentally sent to an MB Bank account in a different province.
