Vietnamese banks roll out high‑interest savings and reward promotions
Several Vietnamese banks have launched new savings promotions to attract deposits. VPBank’s digital arm Cake by VPBank added 1.5 percentage points for new 6‑month term deposits, offering up to 8.9% annualized returns. VPBank’s NEO app added 0.4 points for online savings, while SeABank announced rates as high as 8.55% during the World Cup, with an extra 0.2‑point bonus for new customers. NCB introduced Sun Signature reward points, and HDBank organized a lottery with gold and savings‑book prizes. BVBank continued gifting items such as helmets to new savers. Larger institutions in the Big4 kept rates near 6%, whereas PVcomBank advertised a 10% rate for deposits of VND 2 trillion or more.
Vietcombank also introduced a promotional program linked to the popular TV show “Quán nhà Haha”. Through VCB Digibank, customers who perform daily banking transactions receive daily lucky‑draw spins, with chances to win exclusive tickets to the show’s backstage or to become a “food ambassador”. Additional rewards include discount codes and shopping vouchers. The bank also offers a savings‑rate competition, granting top depositors extra access to the TV‑show experience.
