Vietnamese banks show varying savings interest rates

A survey of 35 banks in Vietnam reveals significant variations in savings interest rates across different terms and banking methods. For 3-month terms, most major banks including Vietcombank, BIDV, VietinBank, and Agribank offer rates around 4.7% to 4.75% per annum.

For 6-month terms, rates vary widely from 4.65% to 7.6% per annum, with ACB leading at 7.6% and SCB at the lower end with 2.9%. BVBank offers a notable rate of approximately 8.6% for first-time online depositors via its Digimi platform.

The 12-month term shows the widest discrepancy, ranging from 3.7% to 7.8% per annum. ACB and Sacombank provide some of the highest rates in this category, while the Big4 group maintains rates around 6.8%. Some institutions, such as NCB and Sacombank, are also running promotional programs involving real estate rewards for high-value depositors.
