Vietnamese brands leverage technology and manufacturing to expand
Vietnamese enterprises are increasingly leveraging manufacturing capacity, technology, and innovation to elevate national brand value. Major companies such as Hoa Phat, THACO, Vinamilk, and PNJ are demonstrating how industrial strength can drive expansion into global supply chains and international markets, ranging from steel and automotive sectors to dairy and jewelry.
However, challenges remain regarding regulatory frameworks and product standards. Pharmacist Nguyen Xuan Hoang noted that the functional food market has undergone significant purification, with 60-70% of weak entities being removed. He highlighted that overlapping definitions between food safety and product quality laws create confusion for both regulators and businesses. To avoid the middle-income trap and build sustainable brands, there is a critical need for standardized technical regulations and a stronger emphasis on science and technology as core drivers of national development.
