Da Nang International Fireworks Festival 2026 showcases German and Macao teams

On 20 June 2026 the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF 2026) held its fourth night under the theme “Creativity”. The competition pitted Germany’s long‑standing Steffes‑Ollig Feuerwerke GmbH & Co. KG against Macao‑based Apple Pyrotechnics Co., Ltd.

Germany opened the show with “Pyrographics”, a high‑precision display described by locals as a “bức tranh lửa” (painting of fire) that turned the sky over the Hàn River into a layered canvas of gold ribbons, crown‑shaped bursts, and multi‑tiered star‑splits, all tightly synchronized to rock, electronic and film‑score music. Macao’s team followed with “Celestial Journey to the West”, an imaginative homage to the classic novel *Journey to the West*. Their performance combined orchestral and electronic music with water‑effect fireworks, fan‑shaped bursts and cascading golden flames that reflected on the river, creating a mythic, cinematic atmosphere.

Audience members praised both shows; one spectator from Hanoi, Nguyễn Minh Quân, said, “Tôi rất bất ngờ khi được xem pháo hoa lấy cảm hứng từ Tây Du Ký… cả hai đội tuyển đều rất xuất sắc, pháo hoa mãn mắt, âm nhạc đã tai, thật tuyệt vời.” The night also featured a live concert with Vietnamese singers and dancers, further enhancing the festival’s draw. DIFF 2026 will continue with additional international contests on 27 June and a grand finale on 11 July, positioning Da Nang as a premier summer event in Southeast Asia.
