Vietnamese enterprises face new standards for global supply chain integration

Vietnamese enterprises are facing a shift in competitive requirements as traditional advantages like low costs, high production capacity, and speed become basic industry standards rather than unique differentiators.

At the 'Go Global Bac Ninh 2026' forum, discussions highlighted the challenges domestic firms face in joining global supply chains, particularly in high-tech sectors like electronics and semiconductors. While Bac Ninh attracts significant foreign direct investment (FDI), a gap remains between having the opportunity to access international clients and becoming a reliable partner.

Gernot Fattinger, Vice President of Technology at Skyworks, noted that to maintain long-term partnerships with global corporations, businesses must move beyond meeting initial orders to demonstrating four core capabilities: consistent quality, technical mastery, professional management systems, and reliable delivery. He emphasized that while low costs may provide an initial advantage, trust and standardized quality control are what ultimately secure long-term cooperation.
