Vietnamese military teams recover more martyr remains in Ca Mau and Cambodia
Military search teams have recovered additional remains of Vietnamese martyrs during ongoing recovery operations in Ca Mau province and across several provinces in Cambodia.
In Ca Mau, the provincial military command reported the discovery of four sets of remains at the former Tan Bang commune People's Committee headquarters. This follows the recovery of three sets of remains at the same location in late October. The site was previously used as a temporary cemetery during the war. As part of a 500-day campaign to locate and identify remains, a total of 16 sets have been recovered in the province to date.
In Cambodia, the K52 team from the Gia Lai provincial military command recovered six sets of remains across the Rattanakiri, Stung Treng, and Preah Vihear provinces. These discoveries were made possible by information provided by local residents regarding historical combat sites and burial markers. The recovered remains, which were found in various locations including near the Se Kong River and former military encampments, are currently unidentified and show signs of significant decomposition.
