Vietnamese officials and artists honor war veterans with gifts in An Giang and Đồng Tháp

On July 9, a troupe of more than 80 artists from Ho Chi Minh City visited Ba Chúc commune in An Giang province, distributing 166 gift packages, including 76 million VND in cash and two tonnes of rice, to families of war veterans, war widows and frontline soldiers. The event, part of the “Memories of the Border Region” program, also featured a cultural show with music, dance and traditional performances.

The same day, Vice Chairperson of the National Assembly Nguyễn Thị Hồng led a delegation to Tràm Chim commune in Đồng Tháp province, presenting gifts to 50 families of war veterans, martyrs and people who contributed to the nation’s liberation. She also participated in a ceremony honoring the remains of fallen soldiers at Tam Nông cemetery, emphasizing continued support for families of those who served.

Both visits underscored the Vietnamese government’s ongoing efforts to commemorate the sacrifices of veterans and to provide material assistance to their families.
