Vietnamese police arrest international fugitives in Hai Phong and Ho Chi Minh City

Police in Hai Phong, Vietnam, have arrested Chen Yihao, a Chinese national wanted internationally for smuggling. Chen, born in 1991, was apprehended at a luxury apartment complex in the Le Chan ward on September 10. He had been the subject of a detention and wanted order issued by the Guangxi Public Security Bureau in China on March 21, 2024. Authorities are currently finalizing legal procedures to extradite him in accordance with international treaties.

In a separate operation, Ho Chi Minh City police coordinated with the Ministry of Public Security to apprehend and hand over three individuals to South Korean authorities at Tan Son Nhat International Airport. These individuals were subject to Interpol red notices.

Among those handed over was Wang Teasan, a South Korean national accused of telecommunications fraud involving extortion threats. Additionally, Han Joohee and Bang Giseong were transferred to South Korea; Han was accused of operating fraudulent websites to scam men, while Bang was implicated in transnational fraud activities.
