Vietnamese police assist citizens in recovering misdirected bank transfers
Police in Vietnam have successfully assisted citizens in recovering funds transferred to incorrect bank accounts.
In Thanh Hoa province, Le Thi Lan Huong mistakenly transferred 400 million VND to an individual in Hanoi on August 31. Following her report to the Quang Phu Ward Police, authorities coordinated with relevant parties to verify the transaction. The recipient, Le Hoang Son, cooperated with the process, and the full amount was returned to Huong by September 1.
In Phu Tho province, Nguyen Kim Minh recovered 20 million VND after accidentally entering the wrong account number during an Agribank transaction on September 4. The Huong Can Commune Police worked with local officers and Agribank branches to identify the recipient and facilitate the return of the funds. Minh received the full amount on September 7 and expressed gratitude to the responding officers.
