Vietnamese provinces An Giang and Lam Dong see surge in tourist arrivals
An Giang province reported more than 16.6 million visitors in the first half of 2026, a 17.1 % year‑on‑year increase, with foreign arrivals reaching 1.34 million and tourism revenue topping 39.28 trillion VND (about US$1.45 billion). The province highlighted digital upgrades such as VR‑enhanced websites, a mobile visitor app and AI‑driven site monitoring, and is preparing infrastructure for the 2027 APEC summit while targeting over three million foreign visitors annually by 2030.
In Lam Dong, tourist arrivals in the same period approached 12 million, representing 47.8 % of the annual goal, and tourism revenue was roughly 33 310 billion VND (about 47 % of its target). Provincial authorities cite expanded attractions, community‑based tourism, night‑economy projects and improved security as drivers, while noting infrastructure and talent gaps that need addressing. Both provinces aim to exceed 25 million visitors and generate more than VND 71 trillion in revenue by the end of 2026, contributing significantly to regional economic growth.
