Vietnamese Team K72 Returns 62 War Remains from Cambodia
Team K72 of the Dong Nai City Military Command deployed to Cambodia on 26 March to locate, collect and repatriate the remains of 62 Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died in the Kratie and Kampong Thom provinces. After more than three months of searching under harsh terrain and weather, the unit completed the collection and prepared the remains for transport.
On 30 June, the team and the 62 remains arrived at the Hoa Lư International Border Gate and were received in a ceremony organized by the Dong Nai city authorities. Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Nai, Nguyễn Thị Hoàng, praised the team's perseverance and highlighted the cooperation with the Royal Cambodian Army and local communities, which facilitated the mission. The remains were then taken to the Bình Phước Martyrs’ Cemetery for burial and memorial services.
