Vietnamese TikToker Nguyễn Lê Kiều Vy sentenced to 18 years for 15‑billion‑dong fraud

Nguyễn Lê Kiều Vy, operating the TikTok channel “Kiều Vy Official,” used false business promises to lure investors between 2018 and 2023. She and accomplice Lý Kim Yến defrauded 12 victims of more than 15 billion VND, promising franchise deals, investment projects and high returns. Victims included a tea‑milk business director who lost over 1.6 billion VND, a single mother, and a couple from Hanoi, among others.

On 5 August, the Hanoi People's Court sentenced Nguyễn Lê Kiều Vy, born 1993 in Phú Thọ, to 18 years in prison, and Lý Kim Yến, born 1994, to 10 years, for “fraudulent appropriation of property.” The court heard how the defendants misrepresented their ability to secure investors, took collateral such as houses and land, and failed to deliver any promised business opportunities.
