Vietnam university admission scores surge for STEM and pedagogy majors

Vietnam's 2026 university admission cycle shows a significant trend toward STEM and pedagogy majors. High-demand fields such as Artificial Intelligence, semiconductor engineering, and microchip design are seeing record-high admission scores at major institutions like the University of Information Technology and Hanoi University of Science and Technology.

Pedagogy and medical sciences also remain highly competitive. At Hanoi National University of Education, Mathematics (taught in English) led with a score of 29. Similarly, Ho Chi Minh City University of Education reported high scores for teaching majors, with Mathematics reaching 28.89. In the medical sector, Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy saw 45 students achieve perfect 30/30 scores, primarily in medical and dental programs.

Other notable trends include high demand for psychology at Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy and the emergence of supplementary admission rounds at various public and private universities across the country. While STEM and education sectors dominate the top scores, some technical and social science programs show more varied admission thresholds.
