Vietnamese universities integrate AI and STEM into higher education

Higher education institutions in Vietnam are restructuring curricula and teaching methods to adapt to the rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI). Experts emphasize the need for interdisciplinary training, digital skills, and a shift from traditional rote learning to student-centered, creative exploration.

At the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University, Hanoi), 80% of faculty members have received basic AI training to enhance digital competency in research and teaching. There is also a call for universities to establish governance frameworks for AI use in scientific research rather than focusing solely on detection and control.

In the construction and architecture sectors, Hanoi University of Civil Engineering (HUCE) is implementing STEM talent programs that integrate AI and Building Information Modeling (BIM) with corporate practice. This initiative follows approval from the Ministry of Education and Training to prepare high-quality human resources capable of meeting the demands of the digital economy and global green transformation.
