Vietnamese University Students Launch Rural Road Projects in Dong Thap Province
Student volunteer teams from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (ĐHQG‑HCM) began construction of several rural roads in Dong Thap Province as part of the 2026 "Mùa Hè Xanh" (Green Summer) campaign. Ceremonies were held for the Rạch Bằng Lăng road and the Diễn Tây Dưới canal, with university teams working alongside local officials and residents to lay foundations, transport materials and carry out initial construction.
The projects aim to improve transportation links for local communities, supporting daily travel, production and trade. The Green Summer campaign also attracted nearly 100 young volunteers from Malaysia, Indonesia, Cambodia and Laos, who joined similar activities in Ho Chi Minh City, highlighting the broader regional youth involvement in Vietnam's volunteer drive.
These efforts are presented as a practical contribution to rural development and an example of student‑led community service in Vietnam.
