Vietnam's ACB ONE adds split‑transaction feature for large transfers

ACB announced that its mobile banking app ACB ONE has been upgraded to automatically suggest splitting fast – or “instant” – transfers of 500 million Vietnamese dong (≈$21,000) or more into several lower‑value transactions. The system can, for example, break a 4 billion‑dong request into eight 450 million‑dong transfers plus one 400 million‑dong transfer, allowing the funds to be sent quickly while staying within the limit for instant payments.

Each split transaction must be approved with separate biometric facial verification combined with the ACB Safekey, meeting the security requirements of Circular 50/2024 on online banking safety. Customers may still choose a regular transfer that sends the full amount in one batch, though the receipt may be delayed outside banking hours. The feature is part of ACB's broader digital‑banking upgrades, which also include fraud‑alert mechanisms that cross‑check data from the State Bank, cyber‑security agencies and the national payment system.
