Vietnam's E10 fuel rollout faces policy push and consumer concerns

A forum on July 13, organized by Báo Xây dựng, gathered regulators, experts and industry representatives to discuss the development of Vietnam's E10 bio‑fuel market. Participants stressed the need for stable, long‑term policies, clear standards for fuel quality and vehicle compatibility, reliable ethanol supply, and coordinated oversight to build a sustainable market.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade explained that the entire E10 supply chain—from central warehouses to retail stations—keeps reserve fuel samples for quality verification. In response to consumer reports of abnormal vehicle performance after using E10, officials said they can test stored samples to trace the source and coordinate with the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Construction and the automotive association to identify causes and ensure safety.
