Vietnam's EVN commits to secure power supply through 2027
Vietnam Electricity (EVN) held a mid‑year conference reporting a record‑high daily load of 1,215.4 GWh and a 9.85% increase in total generation and imports to 171.54 billion kWh. The corporation outlined emergency plans to maintain safe and stable electricity delivery in 2027, including fuel procurement, hydro‑reservoir management and load‑adjustment strategies ahead of a projected El Niño impact.
In Ho Chi Minh City, EVN’s local subsidiary launched a consumer‑protection program aimed at renters, promoting transparent electricity pricing, online meter readings and billing information. The initiative seeks to reduce rent‑related electricity cost concerns for workers, students and migrants.
Both efforts emphasize EVN’s coordinated response to rising demand, extreme weather and the need for reliable, affordable power across Vietnam.
