Vietnam's Gia Lai Province and Da Nang City Push to Unlock Stalled Development Projects

The chairman of Gia Lai province, Pham Anh Tuan, signed an urgent directive demanding that local agencies, investors and related parties swiftly resolve obstacles and commence 41 projects that missed their June 2026 start date. The order also sets a July 2026 deadline for an additional 34 projects, warns that continued delays may lead to project revocation, and calls for detailed start‑up schedules to be reported to the finance department.

Da Nang city issued a press statement outlining a comprehensive drive to clear difficulties for dozens of long‑standing projects. Out of a catalog of 354 projects, 206 (58.2%) have been processed under special central‑government mechanisms. The effort targets major developments such as the Da Phuoc International urban area, the Quan Nam‑Thuý Tú eco‑city and the Nam Hội An resort, aiming to release land, assets and capital that have been stalled and to restore investor confidence.

Both jurisdictions stress that faster project implementation is essential for attracting investment, citing Gia Lai’s attraction of 165 projects worth roughly VND 164.75 trillion in the first half of 2026 and the creation of 2,075 new enterprises.
