Vietnam's Hai Phong and Vung Ang zones target 13% growth, 2050 plan
Hai Phong city has issued a revised economic growth scenario for the second half of 2026, aiming to achieve a 13% increase in GRDP for the full year. After a 11.33% rise in the first half—ranking third nationally—the city set specific targets for industrial, construction, and service sectors, as well as goals for public investment, tax revenue, credit growth, foreign investment, social housing, and the creation of new enterprises.
The Vietnamese government, represented by Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Tuc, approved an adjustment to the master plan of the Vung Ang Economic Zone in Ha Tinh province, extending planning to 2050. The updated plan covers 22,781 ha and outlines population forecasts of about 181,000 by 2030 and 249,000 by 2050, along with land‑use allocations. It emphasizes a multi‑sector, coastal‑economic model centered on industry, port activities, logistics, and integrated infrastructure to promote sustainable socio‑economic development.
