Vietnam's Lang Son and Ca Mau Provinces Set Ambitious Growth and Infrastructure Plans

Vietnam's Prime Minister Le Minh Hung urged the Lang Son provincial leadership to prioritize strategic transport projects, including the Hữu Nghị‑Chi Lăng highway, Lạng Sơn‑Thái Nguyên and Lạng Sơn‑Tiên Yên motorways, a standard‑gauge railway to Đồng Đăng, and several industrial and smart‑border zones. The government aims for the province to achieve a growth rate of at least 10% in 2026, calling for regular review of growth scenarios, accelerated project implementation, re‑allocation of delayed funds, and a reduction of the overall project portfolio by 30%.

Deputy Prime Minister Hồ Quốc Dũng set a similar 10% growth target for Ca Mau Province in 2026, highlighting its strategic 310‑km coastline and potential in the sea economy, aquaculture, renewable energy and logistics. In the first half of 2026, Ca Mau’s GRDP rose 6.6% and seafood exports exceeded US$1.1 billion. The province is focusing on administrative reform, digital transformation, and attracting large‑scale industrial projects, though its growth still lags behind the national average, ranking 32nd of 34 provinces.
