Vietnam's Liên Khương International Airport to resume operations on Aug 19
The Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation (VATM) reported that 84,616 flights were safely coordinated in July 2026, achieving more than 56% of the year's planned flight operations. VATM highlighted ongoing safety measures, weather monitoring and coordination with relevant agencies to ensure safe air traffic during the peak summer season.
Liên Khương International Airport in Lam Đồng province, closed since early March for runway and related repairs, is scheduled to reopen on 19 August 2026. Provincial officials said the renovation work was completed 12 days ahead of schedule and that the airport is expected to handle about 816,000 passengers in the final four months of the year. Authorities emphasized final inspections, cleaning, and the need for professional staff to provide a "bright, clean, and beautiful" experience for travelers.
