Vietnam's Lâm Đồng Province and Hanoi City Launch New Local Governance Initiatives
On 30 July 2026, the People's Committee of Lâm Đồng province held an online conference chaired by Chairman Ho Văn Mười. The meeting reviewed economic and security performance for the first seven months of 2026 and announced a strict policy to replace officials who fail to meet quarterly Key Performance Indicators. The province plans to assess KPIs for each sector and individual, aiming to accelerate public investment disbursement, which currently stands at only 26 % of the target.
In Hanoi, authorities inaugurated a 100‑day action program on 31 July 2026 to pilot a "socialist village" model in Thu Lâm and Phúc Thịnh communes. The initiative, guided by Vice Chairman Nguyễn Xuân Lưu, sets out nine solution groups and 54 criteria—including quantitative targets and citizen‑satisfaction measures—to improve governance and local development. The city will monitor progress, adjust criteria as needed, and consider expanding the model to other districts.
