Vietnam's Ministry of Industry and Trade orders stricter fuel retail inspections
The Ministry of Industry and Trade has issued a circular instructing provincial commerce departments to intensify monitoring of fuel retail outlets. The measures target illegal hoarding, small‑volume sales, and unauthorized store closures, requiring retailers to keep registered operating hours, display full price listings and comply with supply commitments.
Ministers cite heightened geopolitical tensions and volatile global energy markets as reasons to safeguard domestic fuel availability. Major oil firms, including PVOIL, affirmed they hold about 24 % of the domestic market and can maintain continuous supply despite recent price hikes for gasoline, diesel and mazut. The ministry urges tight inventory tracking and rapid response to any supply disruptions.
