Vietnam's OCOP program expands through digital commerce and quality upgrades
The ‘One Commune, One Product’ (OCOP) program in Vietnam is increasingly focusing on quality and digital integration to enhance the value of agricultural brands and rural incomes.
In Ea Súp, livestreaming has emerged as a successful commercial tool. A recent promotional session attracted 319 interested customers and generated orders worth over 15.6 billion VND. Notably, the session facilitated the sale of approximately 850 tons of ST24 and ST25 specialty rice. Luận Anh Trading and Service Co., Ltd. received 350 tons for distribution in northern provinces, with the remainder being allocated to other partners.
Other regional developments include Phùng Gia Mushroom Co., Ltd., a 4-star OCOP producer, which has invested in cold storage and packaging technology to meet food safety standards. The company aims to expand its organic mushroom exports to markets including China, South Korea, and Japan. By the end of 2025, the province expects to have 696 OCOP products rated 3 stars or higher.
