Vietnam's PVEP advances green diplomacy to boost international energy cooperation

Petrovietnam Exploration Production (PVEP) deputy general director Hoàng Ngọc Trung said green diplomacy is becoming a crucial driver for Vietnam’s international cooperation and competitiveness in the global shift toward green and energy transition. At the 33rd Foreign Affairs Conference, he highlighted that green diplomacy helps Vietnamese firms access foreign capital, technology and knowledge, and strengthens resilience against geopolitical, energy‑security and climate challenges.

PVEP is seeking partnerships with leading global energy groups to adopt advanced technologies, reduce methane emissions, develop carbon‑capture and storage (CCS/CCUS) solutions, and expand digitalisation. The company is also adding offshore wind power to its portfolio and plans to work with foreign contractors to develop offshore wind projects, positioning Vietnam more prominently in the global energy value chain and supporting national energy security.
