Vietnam's Sun Group airlines add new aircraft and debut direct Singapore flight

In late June, Vietravel Airlines received its fourth Airbus A321 (VN‑A290), bringing its fleet to four aircraft and announcing plans to acquire seven more by the end of 2026. The carrier is expanding its route network, adding international flights to Bangkok and planning new services to Shenzhen, Macau, and additional domestic destinations.

Sun PhuQuoc Airways welcomed its 11th Airbus A320neo, increasing its fleet to 11 and targeting a total of 26 aircraft by August. The airline opened several domestic routes and, on July 25, launched a daily direct service between Phu Quoc and Singapore. A Phu Quoc‑Bangkok route is scheduled for August 8, and the carrier aims to operate ten international routes by the end of August, supporting the island’s casino and tourism hub. Passenger data show that Singapore‑Phu Quoc flights carried nearly 98,000 travelers in 2025 and about 66,000 in the first five months of 2026.
