Vietnam's Thanh Hóa police dismantle fake perfume network on Shopee, 13 charged
Police in Thanh Hóa province, Vietnam, seized a criminal network that manufactured and sold counterfeit perfumes bearing the names of luxury brands such as Chanel, Gucci and Dior through the Shopee e‑commerce platform. Investigations revealed the suspects exploited lax online‑store registration procedures to create multiple fake storefronts and mass‑produce imitation fragrance products.
Thirteen individuals were detained, with twelve facing charges for "production and sale of counterfeit goods" and one for tax evasion. The accused include residents of Thanh Hóa, Hanoi, Bắc Ninh and Ho Chi Minh City, highlighting the operation's reach across several Vietnamese regions.
