Vigo advances project for 80 shared youth housing units

The Xunta de Galicia has received seven bids for the construction of 80 shared housing units in San Paio de Navia, Vigo. The project, with a budget of 9.6 million euros, is designed to assist young people under 36 who have employment or research contracts in finding temporary residential solutions.

The building will consist of a ground floor and four upper levels, featuring 20 units per floor, including four adapted units. Facilities will include a coworking space, laundry areas, and 92 bicycle parking spaces. The design emphasizes sustainability through the use of aerothermal energy and solar panels.

This initiative is part of a broader regional strategy to implement 340 shared housing units across Galicia, with similar projects planned for Santiago de Compostela, Lugo, and A Coruña.
