Vigo and Santa Cruz de Tenerife prepare for Christmas festivities
Various Spanish cities are preparing for the upcoming Christmas season with traditional festivities and new events.
In Vigo, the seasonal atmosphere is beginning with the installation of traditional chestnut roasting stations across the city. The holiday programming also includes the popular Papanoelada Motera on December 19, which will be joined by a new addition: the Papanoelada Runner. This running event will feature 5km and 10km routes through Samil and Navia, with participants encouraged to dress as Santa or Mrs. Claus.
Meanwhile, Santa Cruz de Tenerife has announced that its official Christmas light switch-on ceremony will take place on November 19 at Plaza de La Candelaria. The event, led by Mayor José Manuel Bermúdez, will feature live music and a light show. This year, the holiday decorations will expand to over 600 locations across the municipality's five districts.
