Vigo launches new mechanical ramps on Pintor Colmeiro street

The Vigo City Council is set to launch four new mechanical ramps on Pintor Colmeiro street following the completion of safety reports and testing periods. The project represents an investment of 2.5 million euros and is designed to overcome a steep 10% incline.

This installation completes a mechanical corridor between López Mora and Hispanidad, extending the accessibility route previously started with the Pintor Lugrís ramps. Mayor Abel Caballero noted that the project significantly improves access to a local health center located at the top of the street.

Beyond the ramps, the urban intervention includes a comprehensive humanization of the street. Improvements feature expanded pedestrian areas, new green spaces, renovated sanitation and water supply networks, new paving, urban furniture, and LED lighting to enhance safety and mobility.
