Vigo prepares extensive cultural season and Christmas decorations

The city of Vigo is preparing for an extensive cultural and seasonal season. The Auditorio Mar de Vigo has unveiled its new programming schedule, which includes over 30 shows spanning various genres such as music, opera, dance, and musicals between October and January 2027.

Musical highlights include performances by Kiko Veneno, Julio Iglesias Jr., Arde Bogotá, and Fito & Fitipaldis, alongside operatic productions like 'Madama Butterfly' and 'Pagliacci'. The Mayor, Abel Caballero, described the upcoming schedule as a “brilliant stage in the field of culture.”

Simultaneously, preparations for Vigo’s Christmas season are underway. The city plans to deploy more than 12 million LED lights across approximately 500 streets and squares, featuring 7,000 luminous motifs. Installation of decorative elements, including trees and light displays, has already begun in central areas such as Colón and Urzáiz streets to accommodate expected tourist influxes.
