Vijay Deverakonda addresses online criticism ahead of Ranabaali release

The trailer for the upcoming period action drama ‘Ranabaali’ has been released, showcasing a story set in 1800s Rayalaseema during the British colonial era. Directed by Rahul Sankrityan and produced by Mythri Movie Makers, the film stars Vijay Deverakonda as a rebel warrior fighting against British oppression and famine, alongside Rashmika Mandanna. The trailer highlights themes of folklore, resistance, and the personal struggles of the protagonist.

Ahead of the film’s release, actor Vijay Deverakonda addressed social media criticism, alleging that certain online attacks and negative comparisons to the film ‘Jailer 2’ are “manufactured hate.” He suggested that some trolls may be paid to spread coordinated negative publicity and noted that such campaigns could eventually be automated using artificial intelligence.

‘Ranabaali’ is scheduled for a theatrical release on October 16, 2026, coinciding with the Dussehra festival and placing it in direct competition with the release of ‘Jailer 2’.
