Vijayapura voter list manipulation allegations spark investigation demands

Allegations of voter list manipulation have surfaced in the Vijayapura city constituency. Congress leaders, led by Abdul Hamid Mushrif, have demanded a thorough investigation into claims that fake death certificates were used to remove living voters from the rolls. They allege that documents submitted under the legislator Basanagouda Patil Yatnal's letterhead falsely claimed several voters had died.

In a related development, Industry Minister M. B. Patil has accused certain groups of bulk-submitting Form-7 objection applications during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process. Patil claimed that pre-typed forms containing voter details, such as names, addresses, and EPIC numbers, have been made available to BJP workers. He has urged election officials to investigate the source of this data and take action against those submitting irregular or mass objections to ensure voter rights are protected.
