Scorpio wins the record-breaking 82nd Viška regata

The 82nd Viška regata, a record-breaking sailing event, concluded with the yacht Scorpio, helmed by Filip Babić from JK Marina Kaštela, taking the overall victory. The crew completed the Split–Vis–Split route in a total time of 10 hours, 40 minutes, and 5 seconds.

In the Open Racing category, Toto/Spg Tutta Trieste 2, helmed by Mario Hrvoje from JK Trogir, secured first place. The Open Cruising class was won by Vivid, helmed by Aleksandar Marić from JK Jugole Grakalić, while the ORC category winner was Farabut, helmed by Marko De Micheli from JK Mornar.

The regatta saw a massive turnout with 163 boats participating from Croatia, Slovenia, Italy, Austria, and Montenegro. While the first stage saw high activity, the return leg was significantly impacted by difficult calm conditions (bonaca) in the Split Gates, with only 24 of the original 163 boats completing the return stage.
