Viking has announced the delivery of its newest river ship, the Viking Sekhmet, at the Massara shipyard in Cairo, Egypt. Designed specifically for navigating the Nile River, the vessel features Scandinavian design elements, including a square bow and an indoor/outdoor Aquavit Terrace.

The ship can host 82 guests across 41 outside staterooms. It is scheduled to operate the company’s 12-day Pharaohs & Pyramids itinerary, as well as a new 12-day Total Eclipse on the Nile itinerary starting in 2027. These cruises include stops at various historical sites such as the Great Pyramids of Giza, the Valley of the Kings, and the temples of Luxor and Karnak.
