Vila Galé expands despite licensing delays, eyes Brazil and Cape Verde

Vila Galé, a Portuguese hotel chain, says lengthy licensing procedures in Portugal are slowing new hotel construction, according to its chief executive. The company nonetheless aims to broaden its footprint, with projects already under way in Brazil and a strategic ambition to launch operations in Cape Verde. While there is no active demand for new sites in Spain, the group views a presence on the Atlantic archipelago as a long‑term goal.

In Brazil, Vila Galé promotes a portfolio of all‑inclusive beachfront resorts in Ceará, Bahia, Alagoas and Pernambuco, as well as urban hotels in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo. It also offers experience‑focused trips to the Amazon, supported by the Promovêre partnership and the Omnibees reservation platform. The chain’s expansion plan includes leveraging its more than 30 hotels in Portugal and Spain to attract leisure and corporate travelers across continents.
