Villa Carlos Paz to host South American Seven rugby tournament

The Carlos Paz Rugby Club will host the South American Seven rugby tournament on October 10 and 11. Argentina’s national teams, Los Pumas 7’s and Las Yaguaretés, enter the competition following their recent gold medal achievements at the South American Games in Rosario.

Las Yaguaretés are competing for their fourth consecutive continental title. The women's team, led by coaches Nahuel García and Facundo Salas, will feature the same 12 players who secured the recent gold medal. They are placed in Group A alongside Paraguay, Uruguay, Guatemala, and the Dominican Republic. Captain Paula Pedrozo noted that playing at home provides a significant advantage due to the support of the local crowd.

The men's team, Los Pumas 7’s, aims to gain competitive experience ahead of the World Circuit season. Directed by Santiago Gómez Cora, the team holds a record 11 continental titles. They will compete in Group A of the Cup, facing Colombia and Paraguay.
