Villa de Álvarez Mayor Closes Municipal Summer Courses for 52 Children

Mayor Tey Gutiérrez Andrade officially closed the summer courses for children and adolescents held at Parque Ecológico Topocharco in Villa de Álvarez, Mexico. The program, organized by the municipal DIF, served 52 participants between July 6‑17 with activities such as yoga, sports, crafts and games.

The mayor highlighted that the initiative aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 4 and was noted by the United Nations in its local voluntary report. She noted that prior to her administration only one summer course existed, and the municipality plans to offer 150 courses across 150 neighborhoods in future editions.

The event was coordinated with the municipal programs for at‑risk youth, local ecology authorities, child protection services and civil protection, achieving goals of providing recreation and environmental education for young residents.
